Questions
My reminders aren't arriving
- Open Kryssa's Settings tab. Under Permissions it shows whether notifications and alarms are on, with a button to turn them on.
- In iOS Settings › Notifications › Kryssa, check that notifications are allowed and that Time Sensitive Notifications is on.
- If you use a Focus, allow Kryssa or time-sensitive notifications in that Focus. Alarm style rings through Focus and silent mode, but needs alarm permission.
- Check the habit itself: that it has a time, that “Remind with” isn't set to No reminder, and that it isn't paused.
How can I see what's scheduled?
Go to Settings › Scheduled reminders. It lists the notifications and alarms that are planned, lets you plan again right away, and can send a test notification so you can check how it looks on a locked phone.
Why should I open Kryssa now and then?
iOS only lets an app schedule a limited number of notifications, so Kryssa plans about 7 days ahead and fills up the plan whenever you open it, tick something off or iOS gives it time in the background. If it hasn't been opened for a while, you'll get a notification saying “Open Kryssa to keep reminders coming”. Opening the app once is enough.
Notification or alarm: what's the difference?
A notification comes with Done, Snooze and Skip buttons, and follow-ups come after 10 and 30 minutes until you tick it off. Alarm style rings like the Clock app's alarms, through silent mode and Focus: Stop silences it, and Taken (or Done) ticks it off. Alarm is the default for medicine. Without alarm permission, those habits get time-sensitive notifications instead. You can change the follow-up times in Settings, and the number of repeats for each habit.
I missed a day. Is my streak gone?
Not necessarily. Each habit has one joker per 7 days, used automatically on a missed day (you can turn jokers off per habit). Pause a habit for a date range when you're ill or travelling, and skipped occurrences don't count against you. If you did do it but forgot to tick it off, open the habit and tap the day in the history calendar to log it.
How do I back up, or move to a new iPhone?
Go to Settings › Your data and choose Export as JSON, then save the file to Files or somewhere else you trust. On the new phone, choose Restore from JSON and pick the file. Restoring replaces everything in Kryssa with the file's habits and history. Export as CSV is there if you want to open your history in a spreadsheet. There is no iCloud sync in this version, so export now and then.
Can I use Kryssa in Swedish?
Yes. Kryssa is in English and Swedish and follows your iPhone's language. You can also pick a language for Kryssa alone in iOS Settings › Apps › Kryssa.
Is everything free?
Yes. Every feature is free for everyone. There are no purchases, no subscription, no ads and no account.
Is Kryssa medical advice?
No. Kryssa is a reminder tool, not a medical device, and it doesn't give medical advice. Reminders can be delayed or missed if notifications are off or your phone is switched off, so don't rely on it alone for medicine where a missed dose is dangerous. Always follow the instructions from your doctor or pharmacist.
